I just finished my second book. I started reading this one last Tuesday night and I finished it early last night. That is less than one week. On Sunday night I was still reading at 2am.......what is wrong with me?
My scrapbooking has been suffering badly! My youngest son, Matt, keeps calling me a nerd. I am resisting starting another book for a week or so. I need to get caught up on some stuff.
My movie girls and I are wanting to see Eat, Love, Pray and we decided that we would all read the book first. I guess that will be my next one. I need to make a trip to Chapters to purchase it...........that could be dangerous. I used to go in there and buy nothing, but now???
Tonight I was trying to decide......do I scrapbook or do I read? Did you ever think you would hear that from me? Trust me, I didn't either. Anyways.......I ended up surfing the internet, visiting some of my favourite blogs. I came across this beautiful work area that I would just love to have in my home.......it has all those great cubbies for all my scrapbook goodies!
.............and then I start to think practically.........how do you turn this...................
...............into something pretty? I don't know about you guys, but when I start scrapbooking my desk looks like this in a matter of minutes. Everything I own ends up spread out all over and I end up with a 12x12 inch space to work. Then when I am done, I just get up and walk away. When I return to work on the next project, I quickly tidy up (only putting 1/2 the stuff away because I am wasting all my valuable scrapping time) and move on to the next project. The mountain of supplies keeps getting bigger and bigger and then it is just not pretty at all.
My conclusion is that no matter how pretty the workspace is, it all ends up looking the same in the end.
I ended up reading my book and hoping that the scrapbook fairy would come and tidy up my crafting mess..........
I want to dedicate this to a few wonderful women I know.......
My mom.....I love you mom! My daughter......you are the best and I love you! My sister......missing you! Joanne......the best friend a girl could ever have!
Last night was movie night. It was a last minute decision to get together. Over the summer it has been hard to coordinate everyone's schedule, so this was a nice surprise.
It was Dianne's pick and she chose to see Charlie St. Cloud. Now, to be totally honest, I am not sure if she was really interested in seeing the actual movie, or Zac Efron! I was game either way, so I worked until 6pm and then dashed over to the Galaxy!
Here is the plot......Charlie St. Cloud is a young man overcome by grief at the death of his younger brother. So much so that he takes a job as caretaker of the cemetery in which his brother is buried. Charlie has a special lasting bond with his brother though, as he can see him. Charlie meets up with his brother (Sam) each night to play catch and talk. Then, a girl comes into Charlie's life and he must choose between keeping a promise he made to Sam, or going after the girl he loves.
Here is the trailer.....
I highly recommend you go and see it. The content is a bit young (heck, we were the only group of girls that were 40+ in the theater) but the story is amazing. In my research of this movie, I found out that there is a book!!!!!!! Yes, I know what you are thinking.......I don't read! But I do read, and I think I will be searching for this book to add to my collection.
After the movie we went to Williams to chat for a bit (this was the first time we did this and I hope it will be a regular part of our night out). We laughed so hard sometimes that I am sure the others in the building were wishing they were at our table.
It was a perfect night out with a very special group of my friends! Thanks ladies. I am adding a few extra photos of the star of the movie at the end of this post.......these are for Dianne! I have to make sure she keeps coming back to check my blog.......even if I don't post everyday!
I have been a bad, bad blogger! I left for holidays on July 17th, and since then it seems that life has been super busy. While at the cottage, I started reading my first book. It was 464 pages of bliss!
I have been doing some boating too. My son and his friend took the wake board out for the first time since last summer and they had a blast! Lots of new photos (I will try to post some soon).
My laptop has been acting up and it is out of commission right now. Sucks to be me!
My mom and dad have been home from their travels for a bit, so I have spent some time visiting with them.
I attended CHA Summer with Joanne and we had a great time sifting trough all the great new products that will be arriving at our store very soon! That is something else that will be keeping me away from my scrapbook room.
Don't loose faith in me, I will return. Keep checking back......it could be sooner than later!
