Dollarama

When the kids were little and I was a full-time 'stay at home'
mom, one of our favourite field trips was to the Dollarama. It was an outing and you could go shopping without spending a lot of money (something we didn't have lots of because I wasn't working).

Back then, everything was a dollar or less. To this day, I am not sure how they sell some of the stuff they do for only $1. Like every 'dollar store', there is a lot of junk, but there are also some really good deals. In order to take advantage of these, my philosophy is to go often.

The kids are older now, and I am not a stay at home mom anymore. The funny thing is.....we still hit the Dollarama every once in a while.....just for fun. We usually come out with a bag full of goodies and change in our pocket. As a matter of fact, we visited the Albert Street location just last week.......and look what we found.

Amanda was actually looking for sidewalk chalk, but they didn't have any so we ended up with Magic Bubbles. These were amazing.

The would blow hundreds of bubbles at a time.

If she blew lightly they would be bigger and they would stick together.

If she blew hard, they would shoot out and blow everywhere.

The coolest part was that the bubbles did not break. They would stick to everything. Her hair was covered in them. It provided quite a bit of entertainment......all for only $1.

Some day when you are bored, I recommend a trip to the Dollarama. Be sure to keep your camera handy.....you might just get some photos out of it too!

  1. We love the dollar store too! At Christmas, my 11 yr old goes with $20, and thoughtfully chooses gifts for her entire family, grandparents, siblings, cousins, and parents.
    It is so much fun.
