Comfort & Joy - Chocolate Treats

Hey.....remember me, lol!! I know it has been a while. I have no excuses.....please forgive me :)

I am excited to share something I am making for an upcoming Christmas party I will be attending.  I am crafting them for center pieces for the tables.  Isn't it sweet (in more ways than one)!!

It is a paper mug filled with yummy chocolates.  It is so festive and I think it is going to look great on the tables.

Here is a close up of just the mug.  I filled it with shredded kraft paper and added a snowflake embellishment to the front.

This is what is inside the mug.  I wrapped up some delicious chocolates in snowflake cello wrap and tied it tight with red & white bakers twine.

I made this tag to finish off the chocolates.  I am sure that whoever gets to take home the centerpiece will feel comfort and joy :)

I think this would make a great little Christmas gift for a teacher, friend, neighbour, hairdresser, mailman, etc. I am definitely going to be making more.

I would be happy to make some up for you to give to your family and friends.  If you are interested, you can email me at scissorsandtrimmers@gmail.com for details.

Meet Jama - TSF Around the World Online Crop!

Welcome to the Around The World Online Crop with Two Scrapbook Friends!

There are great challenges and prizes to be won, so I hope you will join in the fun and play along.  You can get all the details about the online crop at the Two Scrapbook Friends blog.  Click here!

My challenge is to incorporate 'animals from around the world' in your project.  Many of us visit the zoo over the summer months, or maybe you spent the day at African Lion Safari.  One of our local parks has animals that originate from different parts of the world.  Who knows, maybe your pet has a worldly history? Whatever the case, use these as the topic and insiration for your project.

I am going to inspire you with a layout that I created around a North Chinese leopard from the San Diego Zoo.  His name is Jama!  He was born at a zoo in Germany in 1993 and I had the pleasure of meeting him in 2012.

To mat the main photo of my layout, I created a file folder using my Silhouette.  I used the tab to display his name using mini alphabet stickers.

I created a little cluster of paper and stickers in the top right corner of my page to give my page a little dimension because the design on the paper itself is very flat.  I even managed to find some leopard paper.

I added a second photo of Jama to show the front of his very handsome face.  I found a sticker in my sticker bin that matched and helped create a little more dimension to balance my page.

My favourite part of my layout is the journaling.  I used a new font and my Silhouette Sketch Pens.  It took a little patience to set it up but I am very impressed with the results.  I also added some footprints around my page using a stamp.  They are subtle and blend in with the background.

Be sure to pop over to the Two Scrapbook Friends blog and get all the details for this awesome online crop and join in.

It Takes Rain & Sunshine - July Sketch Challenge

I am really on a roll with my blogging and my creating. I hope I can keep this up.

I am super excited to share this layout with you for a few reasons. I played along with Two Scrapbook Friends July Sketch Challenge, which I never seem to find the time to do. Christa made up a great sketch and it really inspired me to get involved.

I also used some photos that I printed from Instagram. I did a little editing using a few phone apps that I have and I love how they turned out.

Here is the sketch that Christa posted.....

And here is the layout that I created!!!

I made my own title on my Silhouette.  This was a bit fiddly to glue all the little letters down, but worth it in the end.

I used my paint and did a little splattering with a paintbrush.  This really brightened up my background and pulled in all the colours from the papers.

I added some Dew Drops and rub-ons, as well as a date stamp to record the date of this gorgeous rainbow.

I found this great quote which I used for the journaling on my layout.  It fit perfectly with my page and said everything I would say.  I added a little stamp to the bottom too.

One of my favourite parts is this photo.  I added the arrow and text using an app I have on my phone.  I do this a lot and plan to used more photos like this when I scrapbook.

I had a great time playing along with Christa's challenge.  I am definitely going to make an effort to join in with the August challenge too.

Oh Snap.......I Actually Scrapbooked!!

I finally took some time and actually scrapbooked!!!!!  It has been quite awhile since I have created anything, so I figured it was time.

The design team at Two Scrapbook Friends has some great monthly challenges and I was inspired to play along with the August Crafty Challenge from Amanda.  She wants us to use paint on our project.

I created a 2-page layout using a kit designed by Joanne and added paint behind the title.  I love how it turned out.

Here is a close up view of the painted area.

I used photos from Jay's trip to California.....so that mean another layout is added to his album.  We visited Universal Studios for a day and the guys had a great time. This layout was perfect for some of my favourite photos.

I will be back soon with more adventures.....and maybe even more scrapbook projects.
