Sketchabilities Reveal!

It's reveal time at Sketchabilities. This is the first design team reveal for 2010 and I was super excited to see what the team had been up to. I am part of team 'D' which does not reveal until January 30th but I participated in the team 'C' challenge just for fun.

Here is the sketch that Karan designed for Team 'C':

Here is my take on the sketch:

I love how this page turned out. It is a photo of my daughter and my niece. I used the January DT Kit from Two Scrapbook Friends. The combination of the sketch and the product was perfect for my photo. I even used a white background, which I don't normally do.

Be sure to visit the blog and check out what everyone did. You will be amazed!

Little Red Wagon #11

First off I need to apologize for not posting much lately. I have been super busy getting ready to leave on my trip to California to attend CHA! Going away is a lot of work and I will be able to focus on my job there if everything here is organized before I go.

I am approaching the bottom of my very long list and I am feeling badly about not participating in this weeks Little Red Wagon challenge. My BFF put up a great polka dot challenge and made two adorable cards. Check them out along with what everyone has been doing too!

I had to sort of cheat this week. I haven't had a chance to create anything but I did do a very cute card just before Christmas that is perfect for this challenge.

This is an image that I borrowed from one of my scrapbook friends and I just love it. I wish I would have stamped a few more. I coloured my images using my Copics and then used my Nestabilities to cut out the shapes around it. I used an embossing folder in my Cuttlebug to emboss the front of my card, added the strip of polka dot paper from Scrap Within Reach, my ribbon and a bit of glitter to finish it off.

My daughter just loved this card and she gave it to her boyfriend along with his Christmas gift. Thank goodness I took a photo of it before she scooped it up. It saved me this week.

Movie Review!

Tonight I went to the movies with a group of friends (from this point forward I will refer to them as the movie club) and we went to see Leap Year. Before I get too far into this I want to let you know that when I review a movie, it may not be the way you might think it should be reviewed. I am not big on whether it is similar to another story I have seen before. I don't care if it has a predictable plot and it doesn't matter if I know the people that are staring in it. To me it is more about how the movie makes me feel......inside.

That all being said, I headed out the door tonight for my first movie club night. I could stop right here and give Leap Year 10 out of 10 because I was already feeling good inside, and I hadn't even seen the movie yet. I was getting together with my movie 'peeps' and that was good enough for me.

The movie was set in Ireland and I had read (yes I read it) that this movie was described as a comfy fantasy whose final destination was obvious. It was exactly that. It is a sweet romantic comedy that tuged at your heart and made you laugh all at the same time.

I don't want to say too much more because I don't want to spoil it for you. Just know that the feeling I had heading to the movies lasted the whole night. It was a wonderful 'feel good' movie and I am sure you would enjoy it. I am rating it a very strong 8 stars!

I am choosing the movie for next month so stay tuned to see what our next movie adventure will bring.

Little Red Wagon #10

Photobucket

It is Wednesday and that means another challenge from Little Red Wagon. This week Deanna wants us to 'pin it up' and use pins on our project.

I just finished this layout (my first one for 2010) and I added the pins to the page element on page 2 of the layout. Pins are a great way to add a little detail. Thanks for challenge Deanna! I also did some stamping on this layout too! The butterflies, the stitching and the bracket on page 2 are all done with stamps. I think I am going to be using my stamps a lot more in my layouts.

I am hoping my scrapbook friend Sue checks out this post! These photos were taken at her house. She generously allows us to come and visit from time to time and get our puppy fill! Matt says that he needs some winter shots of him and the puppies so we need to come for another visit!

Be sure to check out what the other girlfriends created for this challenge. You can link to their blogs by clicking their names along the right side of my blog. Join in the fun!

Cards for a Gift!

I am posting some of my creations over the past month. I have been so busy crafting for the holidays but couldn't post the images because I didn't want to spoil any surprises.

Here is a set of cards I made for my BFF as part of her Christmas gift. I was inspired by something I saw on a blog. I have just spent the past 1/2 hour looking for it, but I can't find it. I believe it was either Kristina Werner or Jennifer McGuire. I apologize if I am wrong. I have to pay more attention to these things in the future. I used the basic design that I saw, but used my stamps and my own colours.

I wrapped them up with envelopes and ribbon. I left them blank so she could make use of them for any occasion. I will be recreating them again. I loved how they turned out and loved giving them as a gift.
