What An Adventure!

It has been a while since I have scrapbooked. All my time has been spent on organizing for Scrapfest and planning for our Fall Retreat.

There was one weekend in between both of these events and Joanne and I escaped to a fundraiser crop and spent 12 hours cropping together. I spent most of my time working on my Christmas tags for our upcoming tag swap and making up a sample calendar for the store.

I did take some time to make up a kit that Shelby had designed for the store. It was based on a sketch by Allison Davis and I just knew I had the perfect photos for it!

This was one of the days that I kidnapped my kids and took them to the railway tracks in St. Jacobs. I took so many photos and I couldn't wait to get some of them on a layout.

I couldn't let this page go without stitching something, so I added some to the stars.

I changed the title up and added these corrugated letters that I stole from Joanne's stash. I sanded them down and that exposed the core colour. I also added 2 rows of white pen lines around the entire layout.

Guest Designer Spot!

blushing smiley Pictures, Images and Photos

I have some very exciting news (well for me anyways)! I have been invited to be November's guest designer for Allison Davis' Sketch Week! This is something totally new for Sketch Week, and I am the first one (yikes).

It sounds like my layout will be featured on Friday, November 12th. I just received the sketch this past weekend and I have been planning things out.

I am so excited to be working with Allison and can't wait to get started on my layout! Be sure to stop by Allison's blog and check out all her great sketches. We also have all of her sketch books in our store. Click here for more details.

Off To Fall Retreat With My BFF!

Today I am heading off to another retreat at the Oakwood Inn in Grand Bend. I have lost count as to how many we have done, but do know that each and every one has been with my BFF! It is a busy weekend and we are totally exhausted when we come home but we do it together!

This is for my Best Friend!

Preparing For Our Fall Retreat!

I am still alive! I have been so busy lately.......Scrapfest in Oshawa and now our Fall Retreat at the Oakwood Inn! I have fallen behind on my posting. Once things slow down, I promise to catch up.

Last night I put together these adorable little boxes for our Fall Retreat. This weekend is Halloween, so Joanne and I thought it would be fun to have some festive things at the crop. These little boxes are going to be used to hold tickets for some special draws we will be having.

I made 10 in total and I just love their faces.

Off To Oshawa!

I am excited to be heading to Scrapfest Oshawa! Whenever I travel I always worry about who is going to step up and do all the things that I do at home. That is the 'mom' in me, I guess.

Everyday I get up with my kids and make their lunch, keep them on schedule and out the door to catch the bus.

Matt (my youngest, 14 yrs) is very good about getting up when his alarm goes off, getting his breakfast and into the shower to be ready when his friends come to call on him in the morning.

Jason (middle child, 16yrs) likes to set his alarm and then shut it off when it goes off and go back to sleep. I have to wake him up everyday! He usually gets involved in whatever show is on TV and forgets to take the food from his plate and put it into his mouth! Eventually he makes his way up to the shower.......not sure what he does in there, but it takes forever! I have to remind him to take his lunch and he is usually running to the bus stop!

As he was leaving today, I reminded him that I would be away until Saturday night and that he would have to get himself off to school Friday! He looked at me and said "You mean get up myself? You mean leave on time? What if I miss the bus? I will have to walk to school? UGH!"

I think what he was trying to say was "Mom, I love you and I will miss you........I appreciate everything you do for me. Have a great trip and I will see you when you get home"

What do you think?
