I had a lot of fun using this weeks sketch at Sketch Support! It is one-page week and I created a layout celebrating the birth of Amanda's little cupcake business.
I added a border in the top right corner of the page. I just had to use this little scalloped border with tiny cupcakes on it. I added some stitching and tied a bow around the tab.
I added some ribbon on top of the striped strip to add some dimension and a splash of colour. I also couldn't resist adding some stitching to the scallops at the bottom of the page.
I added brads to the printed flowers on the pattern paper.
I had to make sure the title went with the name of her business, so I sprinkled it with glitter.
I hope you find some time to pop over to Sketch Support to see what the rest of the design team has created.

I'm in shock - giveaway!
Earlier this week I found out that my 'When it Rains, It Pours' layout was going to be featured on the manufacturers blog (Nikki Sivils). It was going to be combined with a giveaway that she is doing. I was in shock!
I checked it out this morning and it is a very generous draw. You have the chance to win a collection from Nikki Sivils, Volume 7 of Sketches for Scrapbooking by Allison Davis and a Cuttlebug! All you have to do is leave a comment. The draw is Monday.

When it Rains, It Pours!
This week at Sketch Support it is add-on week. I loved the sketch so much that I created a second project, only this time I just used the sketch as my inspiration. The idea behind the add-on sketch is to make your own embellishment, but when I saw this little turtle holding the umbrella, I couldn't resist using it on my page.
I cut out the turtle and popped it up by using foam adhesive.
I couldn't resist adding some stitching to my layout. I stitched the squares on the background as well as a scalloped border.
I used a scalloped circle punch to give these little rain boots some extra detail. I used teardrop shaped Dewdrops for my raindrops.
I added Glossy Accents to the dots on the umbrella to make them appear wet from the rain.
I actually won this collection back in January from Nikki Sivils. I was so excited and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! Be sure to pop over to the Sketch Support blog and check out the other creations using this months awesome add-on sketch.

Spring!
It hasn't been feeling much like spring lately, but despite the weather, I am still in a 'springy' mood. This week at Sketch Support it is add-on sketch week. The sketch is of an adorable umbrella. I decided to incorporate it into this spring frame.
I created the umbrella by cutting out a circle and then using a scalloped border punch to create the edge. I added stitching to the umbrella and the birds that I cut out from a pattern paper. How cute are they?
I just love these corrugated letters from Jillibean and they worked perfectly with my theme. I mounted them on scalloped circles and I scored the white squares with my ScorPal to create more texture.
Be sure to visit the Sketch Support blog to see what the rest of the design team creates using the umbrella add-on sketch.

Quilting Anyone??????
Amanda and I finally purchased materials to make a rag quilt. We have been wanting to do this for a while now, but we just couldn't seem to find the time. Here is our colour combination....
Amanda worked very hard and cut out 240 perfect squares.
Here are the fronts, backs and the insides all stacked and perfectly organized.
Then the sewing began. I am so proud of her. She has picked up all my favourite hobbies. Gotta love it!
Now she is ready to lay them all out and decide on their placement. It is like a puzzle.
You can sort of see where we are heading here.
She has been at it since 10am this morning. Things are looking really good. I will post photos when she is all done.

At The Beach!
If you are looking for the Two Scrapbook Friends Easter Blog Hop, scroll down to my Monday post.
This week at Sketch Support it is two-page sketch week. These are my favourite. This weeks sketch is awesome because it holds so many photos. I was able to use 9 photos on my layout. I have had these pictures developed for a while and this was a great opportunity to use them. I also had the Two Scrapbook Friends product challenge kit and it was the perfect theme for my photos.
All the elements fit together to create all the embellishments for my 2 pages. I also had to add stitching to outline the bracket pattern paper and the border on pg 2.
When I created this, we were do an online crop on the Two Scrapbook Friends forum and one of the challenges was to use a castle. I found this 3D sand castle and it was the perfect touch for my journal spot.
Be sure to visit Sketch Support and see what the other ladies have created using this fabulous sketch.

Two Scrapbook Friends Easter Blog Hop!
Welcome to the first ever Two Scrapbook Friends Easter Blog Hop! If you did not start the hop at the Two Scrapbook Friends Blog, click here and receive your instructions!
I am very excited to show you a little basket that would be perfect for Easter. I used my ScorPal to do all the scoring and the basket weave pattern.
I started out with a 6x6 square of cardstock. With a few score lines for folding, the basket was 'easy peasy' to make!
I added this sweet bunny from the Create a Critter cartridge for the Cricut to make my basket look Eastery!
I love to add tulle to all my projects lately. It makes a perfect bow everytime.
Be sure to leave a comment on my blog before you move onto Joanne's blog! You need to do this in order to qualify for the draw! I will also be doing a random draw on Friday morning to give away my Easter basket.
Enjoy hopping around!

Enjoy Today
This week at Sketch Support it is card sketch week! I am not a big card maker, but I do like to make one for the sketch. I used a die from Accucut to create the base of my card. It was so easy! I love how it creates the scalloped front and by using double-sided paper it really sets it off.
I made my own flower by cutting out different size scalloped circles. Using scissors, I cut into the center of the circle, between the scallops. I crumpled them and then layered them together.
I finally got around to using some of the new SRM stickers that we have in the store. I love these. So easy to use and they look like a rub-on.
I couldn't resist adding a bit of stitching to the white card front. It created another layer and also gives some dimension.

Oh Kitty!
As most of you know, I am a mother to 3 teenagers. If that isn't enough, I am also the mother to 3 cats! Like typical cats, they are curious and always getting into things. Each day brings something new.
Over March break, Jason was taking his 'in class' driver training sessions. He had to be in the classroom by 9am. This particular day I had just fed the cats and Maya (she is not shown) never eats very much so I always have to put her dish up high so that the other two don't eat it all on her. I set it up on top of the microwave figuring it would be safe.
I came home to this........! This is Cooper. Although he is our largest cat, he is the most timid. I found him having a small feast from the mess on the floor.
I found it somewhat surprising that he would have caused this, but he was the only one around.
Then along came the real culprit. This is kitty! She is trouble. She is cute and that is why she usually gets away with things. Look at her just sitting there watching Cooper!
I was still in shock and muttered 'what the heck happened here?' She looked over, all sweet and cute!
Then I noticed the dishwasher door was partly open and that a bunch of the food (including a big chunk of the wet food) had fallen inside.
I was not impressed, but it was done and I began cleaning it up. Kitty came over to investigate and I noticed the wet food behind her ear! She had been caught. The little turd had climbed up on the counter and used her 'super sniffer' and found Maya's food dish. She was trying to eat it on top of the microwave and ended up knocking it on the floor. I didn't even think she was in the room when it happened, but how would she get wet food behind her ear??????
After cleaning up the dishwasher I swept up the floor. She even had to have a snack before I scooped it up for the garbage.
Look here, she is eating so fast that her head is blurred in the shot!
What a crazy kitty! They do bring us hours of entertainment. They are well loved and receive a lot of attention. Even when she does stuff like this I know that I would be sad if she wasn't around.
