Today I went to on a road trip with my BFF and we took a class to learn how to colour stamped images using Prismacolor pencils. I have seen many cards done using this technique and I was super excited to be able to try it out.
Our teacher was Paula Williamson and she is very talented. You can check out her blog here! It was a 2 hour class and we were given materials to complete 4 cards. I worked very hard and kept up to most of the other students and I only managed to finish colouring 1 image.
We focused on how to blend and shade to create depth in our images. It is hard to believe that this took me 2 hours to do.....but I am very happy with how it turned out. I had a great day with my friend and I learned something new.........Oh Happy Day!

Little Red Wagon #17
Little Red Wagon has issued another great challenge today. It is Joanne's turn and she wants us to use black & white. I must admit that my first attempt at this challenge ended up in the garbage. My second attempt when much better.
I followed the challenge and only used black & white. I used one of my Cuttlebug border embossing folders to create the flowers and added black buttons to the center and filled in the petals with some Diamond Stickles. I stamped my verse with a Unity stamp and finished it off with some black & white ribbon.
I can't wait to see what my girlfriends did. You can check out their creations by clicking on their name along my sidebar. You can join in on the challenge and link up your post on the Little Red Wagon blog!

Design Team Kit at Two Scrapbook Friends!
At Two Scrapbook Friends we have an amazing team behind us, and I have been admiring all their talent......so I thought that I would play along with the kit they get and see what I could come up with.
This month they were given products from Pink Paislee's Cupid line. It is just a beautiful collection to work with. Here is a layout that I did using products from the kit.
The edges of the background paper are stamped with brown ink using a flourish stamp that I had. I sort of stamped it half on the page and half off the page. It created a really neat effect. I also used the same stamp to create 'stems' for the flowers that I cut out of one of the other pattern papers.
I Glimmer Misted the chipboard word 'love' and added some lace trim. I was quite happy with the end result.
I have a few more projects and layouts that I have been working on too. I will post them later this week. The Design Team will reveal their creations on March 1st! I can't wait to see what they do!

Ok, I am having another 'proud mom' moment! Here are the 2 photos that were taken at the Semi-formal. I just love the photo of Jake and Amanda. I love how they match and how Jake's hand is in his pocket......and of course how cute Amanda looks with her curly hair!
And this is the other photo that was taken with her and some of her girlfriends.
Amanda posted a bunch more photos on her blog so if you want to see more you can check them out here!

Little Red Wagon #16
It's Wednesday......my favourite day of the week. Another great challenge over at the Little Red Wagon! This week it is Deanna's turn and she wants to see our ribbon-y goodness!
Here is my goodness......
I know that Valentine's Day has past, but there is a rather cute story that goes along with this. My son Jason has a crush on a girl at school. She has been over to our house a couple of times and he has gone to her house as well. She has even come to one of his hockey games.....now that is serious. He wanted to ask her to 'go out' with him and decided that he was going to do it on Valentine's Day. He sort of asked for some help so Amanda and I jumped right in.......poor guy!
I got out my ScorPal and whipped up this cute little pizza box. I had seen the cutest card on Regan's blog that was the inspiration for decorating the top. Inside we filled it with Hershey's Kisses and on the inside of the lid he wrote a little note.......asking her if she would 'go out' with him. Isn't that sweet?????
Anyways, the box was made from an old piece of embossed cardstock (I don't even know who makes it). The pattern papers are from Pink Paislee's Cupid line. The stamp is from Close to My Heart and I used my Copic markers to colour in the #4. I added Diamond Stickles to some of the polka dots and the coloured #4 and finished it off with my ribbon-y goodness.
I hope you find some time to join in on the fun. Be sure to check out what the other girlfriends (just click on their names along my sidebar) have created and link up your post on the Little Red Wagon Blog!

Take Time To Smell The Roses!
We have been spending our weekend in the basement making shelves. I woke up before everyone else this morning and I was able to sneak a little crafting in (I love times like this).
I was over on the Cards Blog and I saw the challenge this week was to use a transparency. I decided to play along and this is what I created.
All these papers are from Pink Paislee's Cupid collection. The transparency sheet is from Bazzill and I die-cut the flower shape using my Nestabilities. I embossed it using the Swiss Dots folder and my Cuttlebug. The stamp in from a set that my mom gave me from Close To My Heart. It comes with all sorts of little sayings and I thought this was a perfect one! I finished it off with some Diamond Stickles for a little sparkle.
I hope you find a little time to 'smell the flowers' this weekend. :)

Semi-formal Photos..........
Last night was Amanda's semi-formal for school. She was very involved with planning it and we have been hearing about it for weeks. It was held at St. Geroge Hall on King Street. She said it was beautiful. Before she went to the dance we set up a backdrop and did a little photo shoot. She is going to be so mad at me for posting these before she posted them on her blog.
Here is a photo of Jake and her. By this time they were pretty silly. It still turned out to be a cute photo.
She had her hair done and I think she looks sooooooo cute! Here is a funny shot of her holding her new shoes.......I am not sure how she walks in them.
She is going to be turning 18 next week. I am so proud of her accomplishments over the past year. She is going to have a great future, no matter what she decides to do. Love you Amanda (and please forgive me for posting these photos before you.......I couldn't help it).

Little Red Wagon #15
It is Wednesday and a new challenge has been posted at Little Red Wagon. Rosanne's challenge is to use red with bling! Here is what I came up with.
This week is Amanda's Semi-Formal and there has been a lot of focus around the dress, the shoes, the nails, the hair.........so I thought I would make a card based on that. I have seen these cute dress cards done before and I really wanted to try one out. It doesn't show very well in the photo, but I added Stickles to the center of all the diamonds. It glitters and sparkles in the light.
Hope you can find some time to join in on Rosanne's challenge. Be sure to visit the LRW blog and see what everyone creates. You can view the other girlfriends creations by clicking on their names on my sidebar.

Movie Review!
It was movie night last night with my movie club friends. It was my pick and I chose the movie Dear John! Please take a few minutes and watch this trailer.
I had a great time with my movie buddies and I was also joined by my sister and my mom! The movie was amazing. It was another one of those feel good movies. I made sure I brought some tissue with me because I knew I would need it.......and I did. It was a real love story not only between John and Savannah in person, but on paper in their letters and also a touching relationship between John and his dad.
I give it at 10!

Two Scrapbook Friends Weekly Card Challenge!
Last night I decided to play along with this weeks card challenge on the Two Scrapbook Friends forum. Every week the design team posts a daily challenge or highlights a product or creation from the gallery. This week Regan challenged us to 'shape up' and make a shaped card.
I have been wanting to try out the Wild Card cartridge for the Cricut and I figured this was as good a time as any. I found this cute owl card with a matching envelope. It took me no time to whip up this cute card.
If you can find some time......play along. It is fun!

Ooops!
I posted the wrong sketch and layout. Earlier this week I posted my Sketchabilities reveal for January and I posted the wrong sketch and layout. That combination was for Team 'C' and I participated.
Here is the sketch that team 'D' did and my take on that.
All the papers were from the Two Scrapbook Friends Design Team kit. I used a stamp to create the looped border around my background.
This photo was taken at a lock near the cottage we rented a couple of summers ago. We don't get too many family photos anymore, so I cherish them.

January Sketchabilities Reveal!
I am just a bit late posting this.......ooops! This is my take on the January sketch for team 'D' over at Sketchabilities!
I used papers from the DT kit at Two Scrapbook Friends. This is my daughter (big) and my neice (small) at Chudleigh's Apple Farm. We go there every year and pick apples. They have a big maze made out of straw, a huge slide that the kids enjoy, wagon rides out to the orchard and a petting zoo. It is usually super busy there, but I just love all the great photos I get.

Little Red Wagon #14
It is week #14 at Little Red Wagon and last week we had over 100 girlfriends participate in our challenge. I just don't know what to say! I am so glad that everyone is having just as much fun as I am doing all these great challenges.
This week Regan has challenged us to use chipboard. I dug deep into my stash and pulled out some Heidi Grace chipboard that I had leftover from a kit we did at the store.
The paper is from We R Memory Keepers Christmas stack, but the colours worked great. I have been practicing my bows and this one came together without struggling too much! I added a little bling for some sparkle! I also made a matching envelope using my ScorPal! I love doing this. I lined it with matching paper to tie it all together.
Pop over to the Little Red Wagon Blog and check out the challenge. You can see what the other girlfriends have created by clicking on their photos on the sidebar. If you feel inspired, play along! Can't wait to see what you create!
