It is National Scrapbook Day! A day dedicated to a wonderful hobby! I hope that all my scrapbook friends are finding at least a little bit of time to enjoy something I know they love to do!
Sketch Support and the design team have joined together for another amazing blog hop to celebrate this fabulous day. If you want to join in the fun, you need to visit the Sketch Support blog to start the hop! Click here to get all the details.
Along the hop, you should arrive at my blog from Jill Sarginson's blog! By now you have seen the two-page sketch that Allison designed just for NSD. Each creative team member will have their own special spin on it and that is what makes these sketches so much fun!
Here is the sketch........
And here is my take.......
In the summer, we spend a lot of time on our boat. On one of our trips out to the lake we saw this car/boat. On land it ran just like a car but you could drive it into the water, and then it was a boat. Strangest thing I have ever seen.
I used my Cricut machine to cut out these wave borders and then I added the stitching for dimension.
I just love these corrugated letters from Jillibean and I also worked in some new alpha stickers from My Mind's Eye to finish off my title.
The lake we visit is surrounded by lakefront cottages. These little houses reminded me of some of them, so I just had to add them to my layout.
One of the reasons why I love to scrapbook is the ability to recreate a memory that is surely going to fad away. Although these photos were only taken last summer, it seems like a distant memory. So many things have happened since this day spent on our boat. While putting this page together I was able to go back and re-enjoy (if that is even a word) the fun we had and the memories we made.
From here you will hop over to Christina Hoffman's blog. Make sure you leave a comment here and 'collect' the item you need for the scavenger hunt! As a bonus for leaving a comment on my blog, I will be giving away a copy of Sketches For Scrapbooking (volume of your choice). I will do a random draw on Monday morning and post the winner!
Good luck to everyone and I hope you have a great National Scrapbook Day!
