Natural Beauty

This past week was one-page sketch week at Sketch Support and I hadn't done a single page in a while so I thought I would see what I came up with.

Here is the sketch that was featured. You can download your own copy of this by visiting their site.

one-pageAUG 2011

I did a layout using photos from Amanda's horseback riding adventure. I combined them with the new papers and embellishments from Hunt & Gather by Kaisercraft.

Natural Beauty

I loved the banner for the title so I used one of the stickers from the collection and created my title by adding some alpha stickers from my stash. I added some twine and some brads to finish it off. I pulled out some chipboard letters and sprayed them with my glimmer mist and also added a chipboard star to bring in the western feel to the page.

Natural Beauty 2

I used some of the chipboard elements and sanded the edges to help them stand out a bit. I used one of the bar-code strips that had the words on it for one of the strips on my layout. I love when companies do that.

Natural Beauty 3

I love how this layout turned out and I am happy to have some of the many photos that we took that day onto a layout and ready for her book.

Believe

Wow, it has been a whole week since I have posted on my blog. Sorry ladies! It's summertime and I would rather be outside than on my computer.....is that a bad thing?

Anyways, here I am with my add-on creation for Sketch Support. There have been some awesome cards and layouts so be sure the site to check them out. You can also download and print your own copy of the sketch too.

Here is the sketch!

Add On August 2011

And here is what I created. As soon as I saw the sketch I immediately thought of a Christmas tree. Christmas is my least favourite thing to scrapbook and I am usually very disappointed with my photos. I am very happy with how this page turned out.

Believe

So, instead of making a party hat, I made a Christmas tree. I embellished it with green twine, die-cuts and the new Sparklets from Kaisercraft.

Believe 5

I added some liquid applique to my Santa and sleigh.

Believe 4

I added some brads to the center of the candy border and a row of stitched scallop using my new favourite template.

Believe 3

I used another die-cut for my title and added a little liquid applique to the little bird.

Believe 2

I created this layout using the new Santa's Helper collection from Imaginisce. I love the papers and embellishments. Here's hoping for more 'loved' Christmas pages in my future.

Michele at Michele's Scrapy Creations! Congratulations! Please contact me with your mailing address and I will be sure to get your prize out to you right away!

This week at Sketch Support it is 2-page sketch week......my favourite! Here is the sketch that we are working with.......

two-page(AUG) 2011

And here is my layout! I developed some photos from our recent holiday. Matt was enjoying the little boat that we had access to.

Makin' Waves

My favourite part of the sketch was the wave and the fish. I thought it would work perfect with my photos so I didn't really branch out too much.

Makin' Waves 2

I couldn't resist adding stitching to my layout. The scalloped border and the swirl in the sun were a perfect opportunity! I also added some detailing to my photos with a black marker.

Makin' Waves 4

I created my own journaling area with my black marker and used stickers to record the location and the date.

Makin' Waves 3

Hope you enjoy my version of the sketch and be sure to check out the other creation from the Sketch Support design team.

Wish Big!

Last week was card sketch week at Sketch Support. I am still running a bit behind (holiday mode) so I am just posting my card now. Here is the sketch by Allison Davis. You can visit the Sketch Support site and download a printable copy for yourself.

card(AUG) 2011

Here is my version. I am not much of a card maker. I would usually try and make this sketch into a 2-page layout, but my BFF was celebrating a birthday and I wanted to make her a special card so I thought I would give it a try.

Wish Big

I stuck with the cupcake theme and I pulled out a stamp that I had and did a little paper piecing.

Wish Big 4

I love this ribbon and I used my last little piece to make this bow.

Wish Big 3

I created a border using a black pen and my sentiment stamp.

Wish Big 2

It was successful because Joanne loved it. I also gave her this rag quilt that Amanda and I worked on. Joanne had seen Amanda working on some of the squares and fell in love with it. I knew then that this quilt had found a home where it would be loved and well used. Happy Birthday Joanne!

Be sure to visit the Sketch Support website and check out all the creations by the creative team. This week is 2-page sketch week (my favourite) so stay tuned for my layout!

Time To Ride & Giveaway!

I am back......did you miss me! I was in Chicago for a trade show and then off on holidays for a week and did not have internet access at the cottage we rented (which was a good thing for me, but a bad thing for my blog). I have some catching up to do.

Last week on the Sketch Support website they featured the July one-page sketch. Allison Davis has just released her first Sketches for Scrapbooking - One Page Sketches book and I have one to give away! All you have to do is leave a comment on this thread by Sunday, August 7th and I will do a random draw for the winner and post it on Monday, August 8th!

This one-page sketch is actually from the new book! You can visit the Sketch Support website and download your very own copy to print out.
one-pageJULY 2011

Here is my version of this sketch. I used the July Product Challenge kit from Two Scrapbook Friends and combined it with the sketch.

Time To Ride

I added some cardstock letters that I had in my own supplies to create part of my title. The little jelly embellishment that I used to dot my letter 'I' was part of the challenge kit.

Time To Ride 4

I also found these tree stickers that were left over from a card that I had made. They worked perfectly with the other materials and the photos that I had picked out.

Time To Ride 5

I love bakers twine and used it to tie around one of the smaller photos on my layout.

Time To Ride 3

For my journaling I used some very tiny alpha stickers. You need to use tweezers to put these on straight. I still need to look up the year that we went to Centre Island and add it to the strip.

Time To Ride 2

If you would like to try out one of the product challenge kits at Two Scrapbook Friends, you can check out the details here and here!

Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in the random draw!
