Thank Goodness For Insurance

It has not been the greatest week around the Wolff household. They say 'when it rains, it pours', and they are right.

We started to notice a water stain on our kitchen ceiling and figured that we had a leek in our upstairs bathroom. My hubby decided to call the insurance company to be on the safe side and it turns out that the leek was from our roof! After they cut a huge hole in my kitchen ceiling........they repaired the roof and then we found out that the damage was much more extensive.

Hole In Ceiling In Kitchen

In order to fix everything they will be repairing the kitchen ceiling and re-painting it all, removing all the insulation in our attic and replacing it all, removing the bathroom vanity, toilet and floor, replacing the sub-floor in the bathroom, putting new linoleum down, replacing all the drywall on the wall and re-painting the bathroom.

As if that wasn't enough fun, we went downstairs last night and noticed this......

Leaking Water Heater

We made a quick call to Reliance this morning and someone will be out this afternoon to replace the hot water heater. All I have to say is...........thank goodness for insurance.

My First Publication!

A few months back I sent in a layout to Canadian Scrapbooker. Once I had sent it in, I had sort of forgotten about it............until I received an email from them, requesting publication in the Summer issue!

.Canadian Scrapbooker Publication 2

I was thrilled! I packaged the layout up and sent it off so that they could photograph it for the magazine.

Canadian Scrapbooker Publication

We recently received our shipment for the store and there it was.........on page 96! This is my first publication and I am so excited that it was in a Canadian magazine. The funniest part of the whole thing is that the layout doesn't have any of my kids in it.........this one was all about David!

So Happy To Be Outside

I want to start off by saying that I love Allison's sketches. They have helped me create some of my favourite pages. This week is one-page week on the Sketch Support blog. I had recently developed some photos of one of my cats and decided to use the sketch to do a layout about him......isn't he handsome?

I used papers from the Stella & Rose collection from My Mind's Eye.

So Happy To Be Outside

For the teal border on my page, I started out with a frame like this.

I cut the frame into strips and then layered them together forming a long piece. I layered a piece of the yellow pattern paper on top and added the brads.

So Happy To Be Outside 2

I stitched a row of x's along the top of my layout.

So Happy To Be Outside 3

I wrapped a piece of baker's twine around the smaller photo and added a heart button (because I 'heart' Cooper).

So Happy To Be Outside 4

I even used my own hand writing to do the journaling.

I hope you visit the sketch support blog and download the sketch for yourself. If you create something, let me know here. I would love to check it out!
